Plagiarism Screening

Medivara Journal of Applied Engineering Sciences is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and originality in all published manuscripts. Therefore, every submitted article undergoes a strict plagiarism screening process prior to peer review.

1. Screening Procedure

All manuscripts submitted to MJAES are checked using professional plagiarism detection software to identify similarity with previously published works, including journal articles, conference papers, books, and online sources.

2. Acceptable Similarity Index

Manuscripts are generally expected to have a similarity index of no more than 20%, with no single source exceeding 5%, excluding references and properly quoted material. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold may be returned to authors for revision or rejected.

3. Types of Plagiarism Checked

The screening process detects various forms of academic misconduct, including:

  • Direct plagiarism (copying text without citation)
  • Self-plagiarism (reusing own previously published work without acknowledgment)
  • Mosaic plagiarism (patchwork copying from multiple sources)
  • Improper paraphrasing without proper attribution

4. Editorial Action

If plagiarism is detected, the editorial board will take appropriate actions based on the severity of the case, including:

  • Requesting revision and proper citation
  • Immediate rejection of the manuscript
  • Retraction of published articles in serious cases

5. Author Responsibility

Authors are fully responsible for ensuring the originality of their manuscript before submission. Proper citation and acknowledgment of all sources are mandatory.

6. Ethical Commitment

Medivara Journal of Applied Engineering Sciences follows international publication ethics standards, including COPE guidelines, to ensure transparency, fairness, and academic integrity in all publication processes.
